Based in the heart of Welwyn village there is lots of history steeped around the village 

The river Mimram runs along the bottom of our garden. The Wellington is an old coaching inn that dates back to the 14th century. Samuel Pepys once stayed here!

Breakfast is served across the restaurant
Monday – Friday: 8.00am til 11am
Saturday, Sunday & Bank Holidays: 9.00am til 11am

Bar Opening Times
Monday – Saturday: 12 noon til 11pm
Sundays & Bank Holidays 12 noon til 10.30pm

All our rooms are non-smoking, please exit via stairs should you wish to smoke while the restaurant is closed 

Check out time is 11am 

If you’re staying for more than one night please note our housekeepers are only here in the mornings. If you wish for your room to be made up please ensure they can have access to your room before lunchtime 

Parking

Parking is available at our car park  behind the restaurant 

There are additional car parks in the village

If you see a fire please call 999 immediately 

Please see the fire notice on the back of your bedroom door, so in case of emergency you will be aware of our nearest fire exits 

Our Fire Assembly point is located at the end of the garden

We have a strict no smoking policy. Anybody caught smoking in the rooms will face a fine of £100. If you wish to smoke during your stay with us please do so outside 

If you should have an accident whilst staying with use please report to a member of staff so an incident report can be completed 

We reserve the right to charge for any missing items or damages occurred to the room, inclusive of missing key rings 

In your room

A hairdryer is in the dressing table draw or wardrobe. 

An ironing board and iron can be placed in your room upon request. Please don’t place the hot iron on the carpet or anywhere else flammable – it can be returned straight onto its holder

Nespresso Coffee Machine: 

  1. Fill the water tank with water. The water tank can be carried by its cover 
  2. Switch the machine on. – Blinking light: heating up (approx 25 seconds) – Steady light: ready 
  3. Lift the lever completely and insert coffee capsule 
  4. Close lever and place a cup under the coffee outlet 
  5. During heat up, you can press the coffee button when it’s still blinking. The coffee will then automatically flow when the machine is ready. 
  6. For larger cups, fold the cup support into the upright position. It will automatically fall down again when removing the cup to prevent any drips falling on the surface. 
  7. Press the espresso (40msl) or lungo (110mls) button. Preparation will stop automatically. To stop the coffee flow or top up the coffee, press again 
  8. Take the cup. Lift and close the lever to eject the capsule into the used capsule container 
  9. To save energy, switch the machine off when not in use. The machine will stop automatically after 9 mins when not in use
